Walk of Witness 2011

The weather was warm and sunny for the Harpenden town centre Good Friday Walk of Witness 2011. Several hundred people representing all the churches in Harpenden gathered at Rothamsted Park gates at 10.30am on Good Friday, for an opening prayer led by Rev Christopher Futcher before making their way slowly to the first stopping point outside Argos, for prayers. The procession then made its way along the High Street, eventually to Church Green where a short service was held, led by Mgr Harry Turner from Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church. The crucifixion scene was portrayed by a group of children from one of the local churches.

A similar Walk of Witness was held in the afternoon at Batford for the Batford and Southdown churches.
