St Mary's Fete

12 September 2009

The weather was bright and sunny for St Mary's annual church fete this year, which attracted a large crowd. Proceedings were opened by the Mayor, Cllr Rosemary Farmer, following which visitors got stuck in to the important business of plate smashing, hooking ducks, face painting, bouncy castle, acquiring a bargain or two on the plants, books or bric a brac stalls, trying their luck at the raffle or bottle stall, sampling the cake stall or just chatting to friends over a delicious cream tea.

The fete was in aid of Jeel al-Amal Children's home in Bethany, near Jerusalem.
