Cafe Church - Film Cafe
Thursday 1 July 7.45pm for an 8.00 pm start in Wesley's. High Street Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome to join us to look at the issues raised and explore these in relating to living in today's world. We will be showing the 1954 J Arthur Rank classic film on the life of John Wesley. Come to "Wesley in Wesley's" and learn about the founder of Methodism.

Flower Festival
St Mary's Church, Redbourn celebrates 900 years with a Flower Festival on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd July 10.00am - 6.00pm and Sunday 4th 1-5pm. Enquiries 01582 794676.

Harpenden Sings Gospel
13-20 August 2010
Have you ever wanted to sing in a Gospel Choir, now is your chance! Come
and join the Harpenden Gospel Community Choir this summer at St Nicholas
Church Hall, Church Green. Have fun as you learn how to sing uplifting and
inspirational Gospel songs, boost your singing skills and meet new
friends.
The Harpenden Sings Gospel week will kick off with a free taster session
on Friday 13 August 2010 at St Nicholas Church Hall and ends with the big 'Harpenden Sings Gospel' concert on Friday 20th August.

Children of Africa - Open Air Concert and Picnic
This major event is to be held at Highfield Oval, Harpenden on Saturday 28 August between 4pm and 10pm. NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE.
It will support the excellent work being carried out by Orphans Know More among children in Africa.
A stage will be erected on the Oval and several bands will be playing including some from local schools. Bands featured include John Otway, the Swan Vesta Social Club and Richard Atkins' band "Mid Life Crisis". The event will be on the lines of a “Picnic in the Park” and everyone is invited to bring their own hampers.

Bike 'n Hike
This annual sponsored event last year raised £103,564 for the Beds and Herts Historic Churches Trust. Taking place this year on Saturday 11 September, walkers and cyclists are invited to visit as many as possible of over 600 churches of all denominations open on the day for visitors. Half of the sponsorship money raised goes to participants' local churches, with the remainder held by the Beds and Herts Historic Churches Trust to be distributed as grants for essential repairs to church and chapel buildings. Herts Hike for Oxfam
Saturday 25th September 2010
A series of circular walks, starting and finishing in Sandridge and including the new Heartwood Forest. Distances from 3 to 20 miles, all waymarked and marshalled. No registration fee – just register your interest online at www.oxfamstalbans.org and make a donation on the day or get sponsored. This year we’re raising funds for a project in Bolivia helping farmers cope with the effects of climate change. We also need marshals and helpers on the day – or make a cake!
