Interactive Christian Extension Studies

ICES stands for Interactive Christian Extension Studies, and is a programme of study launched in conjunction with the St Albans and Oxford Ministry course through Trinity College, Bristol.

The courses are run locally by Mrs Gay Carpenter in Kimpton; once herself a student and now a voluntary group tutor.

The course consists of independent home study with a work book, and group tutorials. There are 10 sessions to complete and the tutorials happen every fortnight either on a Monday evening or Wednesday morning in Kimpton.

There are other groups across the country and often churches choose the courses as a programme to follow throughout Lent or other period in the church calendar.

The subjects of the courses vary in topic from term to term - this term in Kimpton we're working on the Synoptic Gospels and Acts.

The home study, 4 hour long sessions with a work book, really get you delving into the Bible, flicking backwards and forwards between comparative passages (this is where a gospel parallel book pays for itself a hundred times over!)

There are a variety of subjects on the programme and the programme is a rolling one so there is always something new to sign up to and start thinking about.
